Supporting Our Customers With Remote Interviews
In the face of COVID-19, the world is facing challenges that many of us have not experienced in our lifetimes. Companies are adopting new policies and procedures—like restricted travel and remote interviewing—that just a few months ago would have seemed unimaginable. An overabundance of caution is the new normal, which includes avoiding contact with those that may have been in contact with or may themselves have contracted COVID-19.
At HackerRank, we value the needs and comfort of our customers above all else. We know you didn’t plan for this, no one did. To do our part to help, we’re offering free, unlimited access to CodePair for our customers through August 15th so that more of your team can conduct remote technical interviews. We hope this will help keep your hiring process on track with as little disruption as possible.
It’s hard to prepare for the unexpected. Each day brings with fresh raft headlines about new diagnoses, new conference cancelations, and new restrictions on employee travel.
Candidates are wary of traveling onsite, and employers are wary of allowing candidates into their workplace. Companies like Amazon, Facebook, Twitter and others have instituted new policies to try to control the spread of COVID-19 among their workforce using remote/video interviewing. We anticipate that companies will continue their recruiting efforts with candidates without bringing them onsite and will continue to do so until the virus is under control.
Fortunately, technology exists that can assist companies in conducting remote interviews specifically for technical talent, which oftentimes requires on-site activities and coding sessions as part of the hiring process. These activities can be conducted remotely using HackerRank’s CodePair. CodePair lets you conduct real-time pair programming interviews with built-in video calling, a developer-friendly editor, a preloaded library of questions, as well as diagramming capabilities to conduct system architecture and design interviews collaboratively.
